Financing the growth - the Social Entrepreneurship Network meeting in Warsaw

Different solutions in social economy financing will be the main topic of the third peer review of Social Entrepreneurship Network, which will be held in Warsaw on 10-11th of April 2014. Experts and policy-makers will discuss how to use European Social Fund and other tools to create the effective possibilities of growing-up for social enterprises on different stages of development.

The peer review meeting will be facilitated by Karol Sachs from Credit Cooperatif and FEBEA - European federation of etic banking. Members of the Network, together with other experts invited for the meeting will be working out the recommendations in four areas:

- Shifting from grants to loans (based on cases from Poland and Czech Republic),

- Using local capital and engaging ethical, community investors (based on REVES initiative in Goteborg)

- Methodology of social impact financing (based on social impact bonds)

- The future of the sector, considering public financing and the inter-sectorial cooperation.

During the meeting the participants will visit Polish social enterprises - Apteka Sztuki (where the dinner will be held) and EKON, supporting  vocational activation of disabled people and creation of green jobs.

The outcomes of the seminar will be published as cases on our website.

Warsaw seminar will be the third within the Network. Previous ones took places in Trento (about public-social partnerships, September 2013) and Malmoe (about the growth and developement, December 2013).
