The 2nd European Social Franchising Network Conference „Social franchising - practise and policy” to be held in Sweden

The conference is aimed at social franchisors, policy makers and funders and social entrepreneurs. The conference will give the participants an opportunity to share best practices and look at financing the growth of social franchising. Leading exponents of social franchising will be sharing what they have learnt with policy makers from governments and agencies across Europe.
Social franchising has been touted across Europe as a key means of speeding up the growth of the social economy and the employment of disadvantaged people. Today there are more than 60 European social franchises employing over 10,000 people, over 60% of them being economically disadvantaged.
At the conference social franchisors will have a unique opportunity to network and learn from some of Europe’s leading social franchises. Policy makers and funders will find out about the impact of social franchising and how they can support it to create more jobs and a better society. Social entrepreneurs will find out if their social enterprise can be franchised.
The first European Social Franchising Network conference was held in London 2011 with 130 participants from across Europe, including a third of all existing social franchisors. The second conference will be held in Sweden, Goteborg, on 13 May 2014. The conference is organised by European Social Franchising Network and Coompanion Goeteborgsregionen as a part of the ESF-project Explosion.
